Dr. Chiari’s research uses an integrative approach to understand patterns and processes in vertebrate ecology and evolution. Her work uncovers the drivers of morphological evolution, the relationship between morphology and behavior, the factors influencing species responses to disturbance, and the molecular basis of longevity. Dr. Chiari’s work combines multiple disciplines, including evolutionary biology, morphometrics and functional morphology, genomics and genetics, behavioral ecology, field ecology, and mathematical modeling. She currently teaches a course in Genetics and a lab-based course in Molecular Ecology.
