Dr. Lim joined the department in 2017 after his tenure as a postdoctoral fellow at the Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of Natural History and Center for Conservation Genomics. Prior to the Smithsonian Institution, he also worked as a postdoctoral associate at the University of Illinois. His research interests encompass the use of ecological, genetic and computational tools to understand how biological diversity is generated and shaped at various spatiotemporal scales. Areas of research he is involved in include avian phylogeography and phylogenetics, population genetics of speciation and endangered taxa, space use and habitat selection of birds in urban areas, gut microbiome and evolutionary history of invasive pathogens. He teaches courses in biostatistics.
