PhD graduate wins best paper by a student award at BOTANY 2015

The 2015 A. J. Sharp Award for the best paper presented by a student at the American Bryological and Lichenological Society annual meeting was recently announced in Edmonton during BOTANY 2015 conference.

The winner was chosen by a team of judges assigned by the Executive Committee. The winner for 2015 is:

Manuela Dal-Forno (Department of Environmental Science & Policy, GMU) for her presentation – “Mycobiont cladogenesis triggered by photobionts speciation: A case study of the Rhizonema-Cora lichen symbiosis.”

Co-authors were James D. Lawrey (Department of Biology) and Robert Lücking (The Field Museum).
